Signs of Attraction
Attraction, the cradle of a relationship, is a heady feeling. If it is strong enough, it can lead to a fulfilling relationship. Here's how to tell if your potential mate likes you. And how much.
For the Ladies
A man who is interested is obviously the one who treats you in a special manner, but make sure he is not an incorrigible flirt who makes every woman feel like jellybeans and roses inside.
Once that part is confirmed, here are signs that invite you to get him.
A Gentleman and a Jerk: Men will be nice to a woman they admire. But the reverse is also true, although it may perplex many women. They can well be jerks to women they want (which is no excuse to stay put if the eccentricity graduates to plain abusiveness).
As for the irrational behavior, blame it on genetics. This seems to be a primal instinct with men. They will insult you and then make up for it, sometimes in ways that will make you smile despite the anger.
While most men do not consciously realize they are doing it, such behavior fulfils their purpose. You have him on your mind nearly 24 hours.
Bumping into You: No one likes being around a person they don’t like. When it comes to a woman they fancy, men will want to be around her. So if your man can’t help dropping by when he sees you in the cafeteria, he wants more of you.
Body Language: We naturally want to be close to someone we like. So when the two of you are standing together and you like each other, you are most likely to be standing close. There may also be a little touching or brushing of the shoulders, hands etc.
Men are not subtle by nature and when this happens, it is a great sign of attraction.
Eye Contact: There are two possibilities here. He may either avoid your eyes at all costs, if he is shy, or he may hold your gaze, if he is not. In the case of the shy guy, if you look into his eyes, he would be ready to spill the beans. For the other type simply stare back.
Mirroring: When we feel affectionate towards someone, we start "mirroring" their actions. When you talk to him, touch your ear (or hair or some part of your body) and if he repeats this action within a few minutes, he's showing his interest in you. It could be as simple as him always taking a drink soon after you do.
For Men
That’s simple. Women’s faces give almost anything away, be it animosity or interest.
Telltale Signs: They will generally blush when you are around or when you are paying attention. Plus, they will sit up straight when they spot you in the vicinity.
A crossed leg points towards you and she adjusts her volume level to match yours. Other tell-tale signs include, biting fingernails, twisting or twirling the hair, a coy smile, fluttering eyelashes, rubbing cheeks or chin, indicating that she’s thinking of you.
Attention: If a woman likes you, she won’t be restless or occupied with anything else when you talk to her. You will have her undivided attention.
Physical Contact: If she touches you while making a point, you have a chance. Her palms will most likely also face up. Besides, she will lean in and be more relaxed around you.
Smile: If she smiles, whether you are talking or not, it is a fairly strong signal. She may also laugh at anything you say, even if you feel it was not all that funny.
