Out of the total 56 people who have tested positive for the dreaded Influenza A (H1N1) virus, 21 have already been discharged. The rest of the patients are undergoing treatment at various authorized centers across the country.

Three cases from Delhi
Out of the latest reported cases, three are from the national capital Delhi, while Hyderabad, Bangalore and Punjab reported one case each.

As has been witnessed in the past, majority of these patients had returned from foreign visits and have contracted the infection on their trips abroad.

"Three more people have tested positive for the swine flu Saturday, including an indigenous case where the patient contracted the flu without going abroad," Delhi Health Secretary J P Singh said.

Only one case amongst these six is a human-to-human transfer of the influenza. The patient is said to be from Delhi. An acquaintance of this 30-year-old was tested positive on June 17.

This man was reportedly discharged earlier from Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital after the initial reports tested negative. Subsequently, his sample was sent to the NICD for a second test, which confirmed the flu.

Singh said, “We have got him readmitted into the hospital. We have issued instruction to all the medical superintendents (of hospitals) where isolation facility has been created that no patient should be discharged till the time his reports are completely negative."

The other two cases reported from Delhi are a 27-year-old male passenger who returned from Canada transiting Brussels and a four-year-old boy who came back from Toronto.

Latest case from Fatehgarh Sahib
The cases reported from Bangalore and Hyderabad came from Philadelphia and New York, respectively.

The latest of the six victims, reported from Fatehgarh Sahib is a 15-year-old boy. This teenager was reportedly a part of the 31-student contingent that had visited NASA.
