A survey was commissioned by home hair color brand - Clairol Perfect 10, on 4,000 women aged between 25 to 65 years. According to this survey, women found the age of 28 as the perfect age when they feel most happy with their love life, self confidence and body shape.

In fact they identified this period of their life as a time when they not only look best but also that they enjoy the best sex.

A spokesman for Clairol Perfect said, "Everything in life hits its peak at some point, and nearly reaching your thirties isn't so bad now. The age of 28 has been pinpointed as the time in a woman's life when their hair looks the best, body shape is at its peak and confidence is at an all-time high.

"The security of your job, having a steady income, being in a relationship and having strong friendships all help create the perfect point in our lives when everything comes together. Reaching and surpassing your 20s no longer triggers the downward spiral of your looks and self-confidence.”

Period of contentment in key areas of life
Taking into account the 12 key areas of a women’s life, the researchers found that women are happiest in their career at 29 and most content with their relationships one year later at 30. This holds true despite them enjoying the best sex at 28.

The research also found that women feel most secure about their financial situation at 33 and extremely comfortable with their home and family life at 32.

Happiness short lived
By the time women hit their thirties they are thwarted by fears about ageing as well as their financial and romantic futures. They fret endlessly about graying, thinning and unmanageable hair as well as acquiring wrinkles.

The study highlights that 56 percent of women worry about losing their looks as they get older. It also emerged that two thirds of women feel they age more quickly than men. Also the women surveyed rated themselves cheaply in the looks department giving themselves an average of five out of 10.

The research also found women spend just five days a year on their beauty regime which averages around 22 minutes daily.

Beauty experts state that a little time spent on pampering themselves and indulging in beauty products to enhance looks can give a huge boost to women’s morale, confidence and self esteem.

Psychologist Corinne Sweet added, "This can help women feel they are in the driving seat in their lives, despite the challenging times of modern life and always being on the go."
