Do you feel that you don’t have enough energy to get through the day? Here are five tips that can help you fight fatigue.
1. Insomnia
One of the most common causes of fatigue is lack of proper sleep often termed as insomnia. People suffering from insomnia feel tired throughout the day. Getting too late to bed or not getting qulaity sleep can also make you feel tired.
Sol: Sleep for atleast seven to eight hours each night. This will leave you refreshed during the day.
2. Poor Diet
If you are eating too little or not eating healthy , then you are more likely to feel tired and lack energy. This can lead to hormonal imbalance and can also disrupt bodies’ glucose/energy metabolism—ultimately causing fatigue.
Sol: Never skip meals especially breakfast. Eat a balanced diet which includes a right mix of all the nutrients and take atleast 3 meals a day.
3. Stress
Often people don’t realize that stress can leave them physically drained and lacking energy. It affects a person both emotionally and physically. The most common physical symptoms include fatigue, headcahes, loss of appetite, sleeplessness.
Sol: Try to have a more positive outlook towards life. However, if you feel down more often, probably its time to see a doctor.
4. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
If you experience persistent severe fatigue that does not get better with bed rest and causes a difficulty in performing the daily chores like eating, dressing etc., then you might be at a risk of chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). Low blood sugar levels, anemia, low blood pressure, neurological disorders are some factors that are linked with CFS.
Sol: Doctors are still figuring out a potential treatment for this disorder. However, a little alteration in lifestyle like developing better sleeping habits, eating healthy, exercing regularly could help releive this ailment.
5. Too much of caffeine
Caffeine, a stimulant found in coffee, tea etc. is often known for its wake up effect. It stimulates the nervous system and improves alertness when consumed in moderate doses. But too much consumption of caffeine can lead to fluctuations in energy and alertness in the body that can eventually lead to chronic fatigue. When the artificial stimulation calms down, one might reach for more caffeine which leads to fluctuations in energy and alertness in the body that can eventually lead to chronic fatigue.
Sol: Consume moderate amount of caffeine, not more than one cup a day.
If you experience mild instances of fatigue, then regular workouts and nutritious diet can help you find a wayout. However, if you experience a severe fatigue, then consider seeing a doctor.
