Partying Minus Stress

Believe it or not, organizing parties is just as much fun as you want it to be! MG advises you on how to eliminate stressors from your party and have fun.

The whole aim of having a party is to have a good time. But, more often than not, parties spell out trouble for the hosts and fun for invitees alone.

The whole aim of having a party is to have a good time. But, more often than not, parties spell out trouble for the hosts and fun for invitees alone.

Washroom Checklist

Make sure that your washroom is fit to host a party by ticking against the following checklist:

1.Make sure that your washrooms are dry and smells good too.

2. Keep different kinds of combs that your guests can choose from when they do a round of the washroom.

3. For the ladies, ensure that you have a packet of sanitary napkins and a few basic cosmetics neatly stacked in a pretty looking basket.

4. Have sufficient hand towels for your guests. You could also have some wet towels soaked on rose water or Eau-de-cologne.

5.Make sure that there is enough toilet paper and soap in your soap dispensers.

The more you get into details, the more will be the level of stress associated with organizing a party. You work hard all day long to ensure that everybody has a ball at your party only to realize at the end of the day that you are either too exhausted or stressed out to make the most of what you have arranged for. How unjust!

The mantra to organizing a stress-free bash this Christmas or New Year’s Eve lies in taking it easy. Here is what you can do to ensure that along with your guests, you can adorn your party shoes and let down your hair too:

Take a Hard Look at Your List of Invitees
If you wish to have a good time, it is very important to keep your invitations limited to only those who you know will allow you to have a good time. If you think that your boss or a certain relative can make you or a couple of other guests freak out, it is best to avoid them altogether. In-laws or elderly guests too can sometimes play a spoilsport.

So before finalizing the list of your invitees, make sure that it does not include names of those who can dampen your spirits or make you work extra hard to please them.

Besides, there is no point of inviting someone who you know will keep you on your toes 24x7 and keep you on the brim of a nervous breakdown.

Arranging for Drinks
Keep your drinks simple. Cater for beer, wine, whisky, vodka, and rum and not for complicated cocktails or mocktails. If you have to include these drink-concoctions, make sure you have some close friend, who also happens to be an armature bartender, taking charge of your bar.

Another way of making things simpler is to get readymade cocktails and mocktail mixes. All you will be required to do is add some ice and water or hard drink of your guests’ choice. These not just save you a lot of hard work, but taste good too. And, don’t forget to have an assorted lot of soft drinks and juices too.

Arranging for Music
Anyone heard of a party without music? You’d rather be dead than attend it, right? So, music as always is one of the most important components of the evening, so it better be good! If you have the space and the resources to arrange for a DJ, nothing like it, but if not, your party will not take off unless you arrange for some rocking music.

You would already have a fair idea of most of your invitees’ taste of music. Make sure that you leave no stone unturned to get hold of the latest DVDs available in the market with ‘your kind’ of music. Good music can help you reduce your work to almost half by cutting down on the need to plan for games or other means of entertainment. It leaves everybody free to follow their heart and get self-entertained.

Planning Your Food
Although a lot of attention and importance is generally given to what is to be served, it’s perhaps one of the least important issues. Why? Simply because, everybody is too busy making merry and nobody has the time to think what they ate!

It is therefore more prudent to serve an assortment of snacks and starters to go with the kind of drinks that you have catered for rather than plan an entire three course meal.

Don’t Forget These
Although small, one cannot do without these little knick-knacks. Forgetting even one of them can spell out trouble and last minute panic. So, make sure that you have enough of these for all your guests when you plan your party:

• Papar Napkins
• Tooth picks
• Ice
• Glasses
• Plates
• Cutlery
• Ash treys

This festive season take a chill pill and enjoy every bit of the fun that you might have missed every time you hosted a party at your place.
