As of now, the most devastatingly struck district of Angul has recorded the highest number of dengue cases with 394 out of a total of 859 cases tested positive. There were 2230 samples in total.
After Angul, Jajpur and Cuttack recorded 98 and 87 positive cases respectively, the count going down with the later and having affected 21 districts from a state 30.
However, yesterday another life was claimed by a suspected dengue instance, killing a 25 year old Sangram Sahoo, a resident of Angul. The deceased was undergoing treatment in Cuttack.
meanwhile, reports await confirmation of the dengue vector due to which the government has maintained its official deceased count at 23.
From the 151 samples tested for dengue as on Sunday at SCB Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack, only 14 came out positive predicting a dip in the dengue epidemic.
Government officials added, "The disease seems to be on the wane, which is clear from the low proportion of positive cases."
