Indian Govt. To Promote Yoga and Naturopathy
Bangalore government has initiated an extremely challenging project to encourage Yoga and Naturopathy in the nation. The government is, at the moment, contemplating on the selection of a competent board to handle the project ‘Ayush’. The state regime plans to establish the board at the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
Medical Education Minister, S.A. Ramdas said that an international working team would be set up under the Ayush board. He was in Bangalore on Sunday attending the International conference on Yoga, Naturopathy and Arogya Expo.
The minister said, “In order to bring authenticity to the Indian System of Medicine, the government is deliberating on setting up a research and training centre under the Ayush directorate. October 2 will be declared as Yoga and Naturopathy Day,”
Introducing 10 Gram Panchayats
At the conference, several national and international organizations took part to boost alternative medicines. The concept of 10 gram Panchayats, in the mountainous areas of Karnataka, was adopted as part of the discussions.
Ramdas during the conference unveiled that the government has issued the Rs 10 crore especially for the establishments of the alternative therapies at DB Guppe gram panchayat. Yoga care at the panchayat is scheduled to begin from 3rd March this year.
The government plans to establish a rehab center, at Belgaum, where the HIV infected kids will be treated through the alternative medicines – Yoga and Naturopathy.
Ayush recognized internationally
The first Ayush conference was recognized by various national and international alternative therapy leaders in the field. Former US Army personnel and director of Integrative medicine and pain management in Washington, Col Richard Petri expressed his views on introducing Yoga and Naturopathy in the United States Army.
Alternative medicines, in recent years, have completely changed the concept of healing and treatment. Alternative therapy takes the holistic approach for curing various physical and mental conditions. Since, the process adopts a holistic approach – involving mind, body and soul – the treatment is effective in solving the very root cause of the disease, claims healing experts.
