It’s never too late to take control of your health. Get yourself back on track. The foods on this list are the ones that are most commonly consumed. However, you don’t need to avoid them completely, just make sure you eat them sparingly, if you eat them at all.
• Potato Chips:
Potatoes are bad enough when consumed in their raw state, as their simple sugars are rapidly converted to glucose that raises insulindefine levels. But when they are deep fried in oil they are converted to one of the worst foods one eats. Eating a handful of chips occasionally is fine, but remember, potato chips, corn chips and cheese puff are mostly fat, sodium and empty calories.
• Sugar:
High sugar content is one of the leading causes of obesity and chronic illness. As bad as sugar is though, it is far worse when consumed with heated oils. The intake of sweets, biscuits and mithai should to limited as much as possible.
• Tinned/Canned Juice:
Most of the tinned juices are no more than 10 percent juice; the rest is water and added sweeteners. Don’t be fooled by 100 percent juices made from grape, pear or apple concentrate, as much of the nutrition is removed from concentrates. Added preservatives cause additional havoc.
• Hydrogenated Fats:
These are mostly man-made fats used in bakery items. Though all kinds of fats in diet cause problems, hydrogenated fats are the worst. Avoid buying cookies, baked goods or other bakery items that has hydrogenated oil on the ingredient list.
• Soft Drinks:
Soda is a poor way to get fluids. They are full of sugar and artificial sweeteners and often contain caffeine, artificial colors and flavours.
• Spicy Foods:
The consumption of too many spices is extremely detrimental to health. Spices include; black pepper, white pepper, chilly peppers, raw garlic, raw onions etc. Spicy food irritates the entire digestive tract, creates mucus and wreck digestion.
People become quickly addicted to stimulation spicy foods provide and find themselves progressively unable to enjoy food in its natural state. In someone not used to it, it will cause diarrhea. The person who is used to eating spicy foods undergoes a process of morbid adaptation, whereby the digestive tract protecting itself from the harsh spices hardens its surfaces. This protects against the harmful effect of spices to some extent, but at the same time it greatly diminishes assimilation, so the food eaten doesn’t provide its full benefits to the body.
