ACPM Medical College

The ACPM Medical College, promoted by the Jawahar Medical College (JMF), is the largest institution of medical education and research in the North Maharashtra region, one of the top research institutes in India, and an increasingly significant center for international education and research. The college is recognised by the medical council of India and the Maharashtra medical council.

The College is committed to excellence in education, research, and public service to the urban and rural community. In addition to full-time undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programs, ACPMMC offers part-time study, informal courses, and continuing education programs.

The Hospital and Clinics, recognized as the preeminent teaching hospital of the state of Maharashtra, provide health care to more than a quarter million people annually. Innovative research and clinical programs, that attract patients, specialists, and financial support from throughout the nation continue to add to the institue's leadership role in health care improvement.The institute also has a couple of Rural health centre's in khandesh, which are operated in association with USAID.

Admission

Admissions are merit based. Students are selected on the basis of an entrance examination common to the state of maharastra (CET) . The annual intake is hundred students. Half of the students receive merit based tuitions wavers, while the remaining students are self financing.

Research

Sponsored research support at ACPMMC is substantial-with more than $100 million in federal funds received annually. This is expected to increase with existing and new interdisciplinary programs within the departments. Additionally, an increased emphasis on partnership with private industry, particularly in emerging scientific growth areas links academic research with industrial application.

More than 10,000 volumes are housed in the College Library . The college library also receives a large number of national and international journals. 1
