Birth control is a series of actions undertaken to deliberately prevent a woman from becoming pregnant by reducing the ability of fertilization of an ovum. Methods, which are undertaken, for birth control prevent implantation of an embryo and it is medically termed as contraception. Sex is a responsible act of bringing a new life into the world and so birth control measures should be undertaken for safety.
Certain physical methods are adopted for birth control. The most commonly used method is the use of male condoms, which prevents the movement of sperm into the female reproductive tract. Than female condoms are also available which are not very popular but are used by few. It has a flexible ring at each end one rests behind the pubic bone and the other rests around the vagina.
The third physical barrier available is the cervical barrier, which is a small cervical cap which stays in place due to suction by the cervix. A diaphragm is a soft, rubber dome that fits over the cervix, and it must be used with spermicide each time you have intercourse (even if you have sex two, three, or 100 times in an evening). You'll have to have to be fitted for a diaphragm by a gynecologist and shown how to insert/extract it. Diaphragms can be really hard to insert properly, especially because they're greased with spermicide.
Besides these physical methods certain other methods are available which help in hormonal contraception. Synthetic estogens and progestins, which are synthetic, form of progesterone. These are oral contraceptive pills, which should be taken cautiously only when prescribed. Most of the combined pills are taken in high doses to prevent birth in cases of unprotected intercourse. Abortion is another surgical method adopted but is approved only for pregnancies of less than 7 week.
The only safe method for birth control is to have proper knowledge before hand. During teenage students should be given proper information about sex education. Possible topics include reproductive anatomy, sexual behavior, sexually transmitted diseases and birth control devises available.
Abortion has never been considered a holy act ethically. In Christianity only natural family planning is considered advisable but any means to intentionally prevent birth is considered a sin. So the best way is to walk safely in life with all precautions before it is too late. Planning in advance and taking the necessary preventive measures is the best way to have a secure life.
Be safe and play safe !!!
