Boost Your Immunity

The human body is an incredible piece of machinery, and one of its most unique properties is its ability to fight bacteria, viruses and fungi that invade it and cause harm. This property is called immunity. How vulnerable you are to infections and illness depends upon the level of your immunity. So the best way to stay healthy is to increase your immunity. Here’s how:

Sleep Well:
We usually underestimate the power of sleep. That’s the time when the body goes into recovery and rejuvenation mode.
While it’s proven that sleep deprived people are more irritable and short tempered, they also have low immunity and lower reflexes. For how much sleep one requires, simply remember; if you wake up feeling fresh and energetic, you’ve had your quota of sleep.

Avoid Stress:
One of the commonest reasons for low immunity is anxiety and depressiondefine. People who suffer from these report high incidences of coughs, cold, and fevers, wile people with a positive attitude show a higher resilience.

Avoid Alcohol and Tobacco:
The consumption of tobacco releases free radicals in the body that results in a lowered immunity of the cell membranes. This in turn leads to mutations that are pre-cancerous.

Sip Tea:
Tea is packed with anti-oxidants that fight off harmful bacteria. Both green and black tea contains them. Tea is also an excellent relaxation tool.

Drink Your lemons:
Lemons are a great choice for restoring the pH balance. Though they are acidic, the end product of lemons in the body is alkaline. They help maintain the body’s internal ‘climate’ at a pH that supports healthy bacteria and not the trouble-causing virus or harmful bacteria, which incidentally thrive in more acidic environment.
