Common Causes of Male Infertility
The following are the major factors for this medical condition in men:
Sperm Count may be Low
A reading of less than 20 million sperm per milliliter of ejaculation gives a low sperm count. This is observed when the body isn't producing enough sperms and there are many reasons for this.
It could be due to hormonal issues of testicular failure or may be from treatments undertaken due to certain health conditions like cancer, which include chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
Blockage of Vas Deferens
The tubes (vas deferens) that transport sperm from the testicles to the penis can be blocked for a variety of reasons including prior vasectomy, injury, infection or physical anomaly.
Bad Sperm Mobility
The sperm formed in some men are neither fast nor agile enough. This means they die before they can reach the egg. This may be yet another cause for infertility.
Failure to Ejaculate
It occurs when impairment of the muscles or nerves of the bladder neck stops it from closing during ejaculation, allowing semen to flow backwards into the bladder during sex rather than into the vagina.
Genetic Factors
In rare cases, it could be due to genetic disease such as cystic fibrosis or a chromosomal abnormality.
If you have been trying for a baby since 12 months and have not been able to get any success then make an appointment with your doctor as soon as possible.
