What men think?
Almost every man believes that it is unmanly to show one’s weakness or expressing doubt about oneself. So when men express emotional pain they react with anger, suicide, workaholism, womanizing, gambling or completely cutting themselves off from everything. From their childhood, men are taught to be independent, active, and of course always successful. This makes it even more difficult for them to express their feelings and finding solutions to their problems with other’s help. Most depressed men are not even aware of their depression because they are not as much connected to their feelings as women are. They feel that instead of asking for help they should look for solutions themselves.
