Not active? Feel tired often?
If you are not very active and find that you are tired often, you might try walking, yoga, cycling, pilates or any other form of simple exercise. By being engaged in simple, regular and low intensity exercise sedentary people who consistently complain of fatigue can perk up their energy levels by 20 percent and ward off fatigue by 65%, according to a recent study by the University of Georgia.
The researchers conducted the study on a group of subjects who either did not exercise regularly or reported being consistently fatigued. They found that the subjects who exercised 20 minutes, thrice a week, for 6 weeks, had a 20 percent increase in energy levels.
You must work out for up to 20 minutes three times a week, if you can’t do 20 minutes of walking in one shot. Start with little bit of exercise as, it will give you a bit more energy each time, so you can do more next time.
Some of the common causes of fatigue include stress, working for long duration and not sleeping properly. Eating a diet high in stimulants, such as sugar and caffeine, can also rob you of energy in the long run.
In another study, people suffering from depressiondefine used stationary bicycles as a means of exercise. The researchers found that participants' depression declined, even when they weren't biking all that hard.
Do the exercise which you enjoy and find time to do it, as it not only keeps your body fit but, also affects your mental health.
The bottom line is eat good and start moving!
