Fish Oil Therapy; the New Breakthrough for Heart Patients.

Fish Oil Therapy; the New Breakthrough for Heart Patients.

Studies show that a daily consumption of fish oil capsule can cut the risk of death in patients with heart failure by 14%. This was explicit when 5000 patients followed the once daily regime, yielding positive results.

A research study states that patients who took polyunsaturated omega 3 fatty acid capsules had less chance of being afflicted by heart problems. A bad heart condition, where the heart muscle is weakened, and not pumping efficiently, omega 3, helps improve the elasticity of the blood vessels, reduces inflammation and improves the rhythm. Studies show that risks have been cut by 50% especially for patients who are currently taking fish oil and medications to lower their cholesterol. Omega 3 fatty acids block dangerous heart rhythms that could be fatal.

Prof. Luigi Tavazzi of the Italian Association of Hospital Cardiologists based in Florence said. “Our study shows that the long term administration of 1 g per day of omega 3 polyunsaturated fatty acid was effective in reducing both ill cause mortality and admission to hospital for cardiovascular reasons.”

Another research shows that a drug that slows a fast heart beat cuts chances of an attack by a third. To add to the benefits this therapy it is “safe simple and cheap.” Besides being effective it is easily available over the counter and can be taken as a supplement on top of normal drugs.

The benefits of fish oil emerged when medical researchers noticed frequent eaters of fish suffered few heart attacks and died of heart disease at a lower rate, than those who rarely ate fish. The highest level of omega 3 fatty acids, found in fish is considered essential, because the body cannot make them from other sources, and must get it from their diet.

A study shows that an addition of fish oil supplements, when added to the daily diet of 9000 people, having high cholesterol, reduced the risk of an attack by 19%. The Health Service recommends daily supplements to help heart attack survivors prevent further attacks.

Many people have turned to fish oil supplements, for a healthy diet to get adequate omega -3 fatty acids which area real heart health gift. Experts feel that fish oil regulates cholesterol in the body. The American Heart Association recommends the consumption of 1g of fish oil daily, preferably by eating fish for patients with an acute heart disease. Consumption rates have soared, as numerous studies show the positive effects of fish oil, not only limited as protection against heart attacks.

“There are few treatments we have in medicine that affect total mortality in patients,” Dr Mozaffarian said to Washington Post. “Just a handful of treatments affect total mortality. Even a small move percentage – wise, is a very important effect.”

Fish oil offers massive protection against one of the dreaded aspects of heart disease-“sudden death,” an attack that proves fatal within minutes. Studies have yielded positive results, although there are still gaps in the knowledge- like can eating more fish – or taking over- the -counter supplements provide the same benefits as the more expensive prescription medicine? However, it is a well established fact that population with high consumption of fish oil, have a lower incidence of heart disease. Several studies have confirmed that fish oil helps prevent atherosclerosis, lower blood pressure, reduce triglyceride levels and are highly protective against both fatal and non fatal heart attacks.

Prof. Fonarow, of cardiovascular medicine at the University of California Los Angeles said. “Heart failure is a very high risk condition. It is absolutely critical for patients, whether it is a prescription medicine or modification of diet or a supplement, that they consult their physician.”

Cancerdefine is one of the most potent diseases and claims millions of lives around the globe every year. Certain kinds of cancer typically affect women only. Here’s themedguru’s low-down on these lady-killers…

Cancers in Women

A cancerdefine is a state of abnormal growth and replication of cells in the body at a certain point. The cell division is a highly regulated process with the new cells getting formed only when the old cells die. However, this process can go off track at times with the continuous growth of new cells at a rate higher than the cell death rate. Thus, the extra cell mass is formed in a tissue or an organ which is called a tumor.

Heart attack is one of the major causes of women’s death after breast cancerdefine and poses a great threat to women. At least one in three women dies of heart disease or stroke. The fact is that women are as much vulnerable to a heart attack as men.

    Heart-attack in Women – A Silent Killer

While heart disease becomes significantly prevalent among women after they reach menopause, it can and does affect younger women too. With proper care, adolescent diabetics can lead full and healthy lives

The International Diabetes Federation (IDF)’s World Diabetes Day campaign focuses this year on children and adolescents with diabetes.
