Five Ways to Make Health Food Interesting

The key to healthy body is healthy diet, but often people don’t chew but swallow the health foods because of their bland taste.

Greek Philosopher, Ludwig Feuerbach, once stated, ‘Man is what he eats’, so here are some tips to make your health food interesting, eating which might make you vivacious and healthy at the same time.

1. Stimulate Your Taste Buds
Use vinaigrette, which is a combination of vinegar, olive oil, lemon juice, and mustard. Sometimes it also comes with some herbs and extra spices. As the ingredients suggest, it’s the perfect topping – a healthy taste enhancer – for your brunch.

Use it as a topping on the steamed vegetables, salad or tofu to get that sweet & sour tinge in your health food. Treat yourself with guacamole, which is made by mashing the avocado with a molcajete. Lime, tomatoes and salt are its common flavoring ingredients.

2. Make a Variety Menu
Variety in the daily food menu and its style is important to maintain interest in the meals. Look out for low-fat sauces to alter the taste of any repetitive food item.

Adding flavoring herbs to steamed vegetables or boiled or grilled meat can definitely do the trick. Seasonal fruits and vegetables bring in a whole lot of variety and blend of different nutritious ingredients in your meals.

3. Spice up the Meals with Flavoring Herbs
For unique aroma in ordinary meals, get the chef’s favorite traditional herbs and spices. Savor the meals with rosemary, parsley, sage and thyme. Spice up with cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg.

4. Veggie Delights
Fix some days strictly for veggies for balance and variety both. Try tofu in stirfry, Indian-style lentils or bean salad. You can enhance their taste adding any of the above mentioned ingredients. Try your creativity with herbs, spices on seasonal produce like sweet potatoes, green beans, asparagus etc.

5. Low-fat Sauces, Yogurt & Cheese
These three ingredients can be perfect side-dish ingredients or mainstream taste enhancer in any of your meals, be it broccoli, pasta or boiled or stirfry meat.
