Good Health and Happiness

“Health is wealth”, they say. He, who has health, has hope and he, who has hope, has everything. Good health is one of the most precious jewels of our life.

Good Health and Happiness
We seem to be living in a world marred by hectic schedules and busy routines with no time to spare even for ourselves. In our craze or race for securing ‘happiness’, we are actually moving away from it. Life has become so mechanized that it is taking its toil on our health and wellbeing. And the results are obvious. More and more people seem to be suffering from a host of health related problems, courtesy stresses of everyday life.

It is high time that we took care to regularize our eating and living habits to live life the right way. A stress-free lifestyle seems to be an ‘illusion’, a myriad in the modernized and highly-mechanized society.

Getting Started in Good Health and Happiness
We need to chalk out a plan towards better health. Here are a few measures to get you started:

o Regularize your eating habits and be punctual in eating at regular and short intervals for proper digestion of the food. Avoid eating fried and fast food as much as possible. Fat contents in our food should be reduced to a bare minimum. Include fresh fruits, green and leafy vegetables, lots of fibers and at least 8-10 glasses of water in a diet.

o Exercise plays an important role in keeping ourselves fit and fine. Make a routine and follow it religiously. Choose to climb stairs and avoid making use of escalators or lifts to keep fit. Walk, run, and jog whenever you find time. Make it a part of your fitness regime.

o Deep breathing is a good exercise for your health. Take long deep breaths in the calm and serene environment of early morning and help your body inhale oxygen which is the fuel for your lungs. The fact is the more you move your body, the healthier you will become.

o Avoid all soft drinks as they are harmful for your health.

o Quit smoking and avoid excessive drinking as it can create serious health problems for you and maryour relations with your family and friends.

o Take adequate sleep to help your body recharge for next day’s work. Our body needs at least 7 hours of sound sleep to remain fit and healthy.

o Stress is proving fatal for us in this modern life of cut throat competition and increasing rivalry. To beat the stress, you can take solace from meditation and deep breathing.

o Develop a positive attitude towards life. Attitude is a state of mind and we can bring a change for the better. Count your blessings and express your gratitude towards almighty. Living your life happily and optimistically is a bonus for your health. Smile is infectious and makes others happy too. Spread cheerfulness around you and see the effects for yourself. Live each day and take life as it comes without worrying too much about what might happen tomorrow.
