How to Lighten Dark Underarms, Naturally!
Love to wear sleeveless dresses and spaghetti tops in summer but shy away because of the unsightly dark armpits?
Dark underarms are ugly to say the least, but a common problem that causes a lot of embarrassment to women.
The darkening of skin in this area may be due frequent shaving, excessive use of hair removing creams, profuse sweating, hormonal imbalance, tight clothing, deodorant reaction, dead cell accumulation, and pigmentation.
Stop fretting, as help is at hand. The unsightly dark spots can be lightened with some tested home remedies.
1. Good Hygiene
Hygiene is vital. Underarms should be washed regularly with an anti-bacterial soap and wiped with a clean tissue every time arm pits start sweating.
2. Ex-foliate Regularly
Scrub your underarms with a loofah when bathing to gently but persistently rub away all the sweat, impurities and deodorant leftovers. Also, use a pumice stone twice a week to help whiten underarms by removing the built up dead cells.
3. Lemon Therapy
Slice a lemon into half and rub it in your underarms in a circular motion thoroughly. The natural bleaching agent of lime will lighten the skin color of armpits while its citric acid will help kill the bacteria.
Apply a mixture of lemon juice and glycerine on the dark area of underarms. Leave it for 6 hours and then wash with a normal soap.
Mix the juice of half a lemon with a table spoon of cucumber juice. Apply the mixture on the affected area and leave for 20 minutes. Use this concoction every alternate day to see results.
4. Oil Massage
Massage dark underarms with a mixture of coconut and vitamin E oil for 10 minutes before taking a bath. Leave for another 10 minutes before washing off with mild soap and water.
5. Potato Juice
Potato is another great bleaching agent. Grate a slice of potato and squeeze the juice. Now, mix 2 tablespoons of curd into it and apply the paste on the darkened armpits. Let it dry for 10 minutes and then wash with lukewarm water.
6. Yogurt Therapy
A pack made from yoghurt, turmeric powder, gram flour, and milk can help get rid of the problem. Daily application of this paste to underarms for 15 to 20 minutes will whiten your underarms naturally.
7. Saffron, Milk, and Honey
Soak a few strands of saffron in 2 to 3 tsp of milk for a few minutes. Apply this saffron milk mixture on the affected area and then wash off after 20 minutes.
Apply a mixture of honey and milk on dark armpits for 10 to 15 minutes before taking a shower.
8. Sandalwood Powder
Sandalwood powder mixed with rose water is an ideal remedy. This mixture applied on the darkened armpits not only removes the dark spots but also prevents excessive perspiration.
9. Baking Powder
Baking soda also acts favorably in curing the darkness of the underarms. After bath, apply some baking soda onto the armpits to get flawless underarms.
