Replacing an old mattress and increasing the ventilation in a room can significantly reduce dust mites in a bedroom, according to a study of 3,500 homes in Europe
The European Community Respiratory Health Survey II took samples from mattress in 22 different study centers throughout Europe.
In a news release, Replacing an Old Mattress and Adding More Ventilation Reduces Bedroom Dust Mites, Dr. Jan-Paul Zock reported that the risk factors for higher levels of dust mites included an older mattress, a lower floor level of the bedroom, limited ventilation of bedroom and for one of the dust mites sampled, the level of dampness in the bedroom.
Well it's perfectly logic here: if you reduce the dust, you reduce the dust mites, why do we need a study in 3,500 homes for that? It's absurd... I work from home and often I use an adjustable bed whenever it's getting too tiring to stay at my desk. I change the mattress once a year. It would be great to have a service that cleans mattresses from dust, this way I won't have to buy a new mattress every year. Is there such a service?

Well it's perfectly logic here: if you reduce the dust, you reduce the dust mites, why do we need a study in 3,500 homes for that? It's absurd... I work from home and often I use an adjustable bed whenever it's getting too tiring to stay at my desk. I change the mattress once a year. It would be great to have a service that cleans mattresses from dust, this way I won't have to buy a new mattress every year. Is there such a service?
