Road trip and heart attack

A US research found that people who travel by road are more likely to suffer from heart attack than people travelling by coach, air or train. The reason given behind it was stress. Stress is widely held to be the major cause of heart attack.

While driving our mind is at full alert which raises the blood pressure and the risk of cardiacdefine incident.

Simple tips for a safe journey:

1. Travel in comfort. Listen to soothing music or audio books to help pass the time pleasantly.

2. You must not talk on cell phone while traveling as it can increase the stress level.

3. Leave early, give yourself plenty of time for the commute. If you are getting late then it will perk up your stress level. People with Type A personalities - hard-charging and wanting to get things done now types have the increased risk of heart attack.

4. Don't drive for long duration. Take regular breaks as sitting too much increases the risk of deadly blood clots. You must stop to stretch every hour or so.

5. While travelling eat light, drink plenty of water and skip alcohol and caffeine.
