And you have to use them to believe that natural therapy can also do wonders for the skin.Here are some handy A – Z face packs to beat the summer woes, with ingredients straight off your kitchen shelf !
A - Wash and core two crisp “Apples”, but do not peel, crush the whole thing into the blender. Pat on, let dry for 20 minutes. Wash off with cool water for a healthy glow to your skin.
B - Mix “Batter of gram flour” with a few drops of lemon juice and curd. Apply it to your face and other tanned parts of your body. Leave it on till it dries and rinse off. It helps to remove that unwanted tan.
C - Mix together some grated “Cucumber” with milk and apply it on your face for fifteen minutes. Cucumber is a natural astringent that tightens the pores of the skin.
D – Apply “Dried Orange Peels” mixed with curd to help reduce blemishes and scars.
E - Mix together “Egg White”, honey and a few drops of lime juice. Apply it to your face and leave it for 20 minutes. Rinse well with cold water. This works as an ideal face pack for oily skins.
F – Extract the juice of two “Figs” and mix with a spoonful of honey. Apply for younger looking skin.
G – Apply “Grandma's Sandal Pack” made of a paste of sandal wood powder, Fuller’s earth and a little milk on your face. This is an age old recipe for beautiful skin.
H - Apply 1 spoon each of "Honey” and lemon juice to your face every day. It will noticeably lessen the darkening of skin due to sun exposure.
I - Prepare a green tea brew. Freeze the brew to form “Ice cubes. Rub the cubes gently all over your skin for a cooling effect.
J – The “Juice” of all citrus fruits can be applied directly on the face. The juice acts a natural bleach.
K - Puree two ripe “Kiwi” fruits in the blender. Pat the fruit on your face, let dry for 20 minutes. Rinse off with cool water. This works as a skin cleansing pack.
L - Take 1 cup of yogurt, 1 tablespoon orange juice and 1 tablespoon “Lemon” juice and mix it into a paste. Apply it on your face as a mask and keep it on for 15 minutes. Then wash it off and watch your complexion glow.
M - Apply a paste of freshly ground green “Mint” all over the face. This pack will absorb the internal heat of the skin and deter acne.
N – Rub a paste of Fuller’s earth made with water in which “Neem” leaves have been boiled. Leave on for a while and then wash off with cold water. Regular use of this pack will ensure a problem free skin.
O - Whisk three tablespoons of full cream yogurt with three teaspoons of “Orange juice" . Apply this pack on your face. Wash off after a while. The lactic acid in the yogurt helps peel off dead skin cells and act as a whitening agent.
P - Take a two-inch cube of ripe “Pumpkin” and puree it. Add an egg yolk and blend well. Add a few drops of sandalwood essence to disguise the odour of the egg. Apply on your face for 15 minutes. Wash off with cold water. Egg yolk contains vital nutrients that nourish the skin and pumpkin is a rich source of vitamin A.
Q – Apply the “Queens” face mask made of sandalwood paste and rose water to your face for that clear complexion and lingering perfume. This mask can be kept on for as long as desired, even overnight.
R" – Rub “Raw sliced potato” on the face to reduce blemishes and other scars.
S – Crush a few “Strawberries” in the blender with one tablespoon of raw honey. Pat on, let dry for 20 minutes. Rinse off with cool water. Watch your complexion freshen up.
T – Mix oatmeal along with curd and “Tomato” juice and apply on the face. It helps to remove the tan and lightens the skin.
U – Application of mashed “Unripe papayas” as a face mask is an excellent way to prevent premature ageing that comes with constant exposure to the sun.
