An individual’s health is determined partly by his genesdefine and partly by the way he leads his life. Our present day existence is filled with energy expending multiple tasks that impair health. As a result, lack of care damages even the healthiest of bodies. But if one decides to pay heed to small aspects of personal health care, a good start can be made. Here’s how;

Keep your stomach fit:
Nearly all stomach irregularities are a result of poor intestinal mobility. The main causes are imbalanced nutrition (excess of fats, sugar, meat, refined or processed food), less intake of water and fiber, irregular meal timings, sedentary lifestyle and stress. Though it is difficult to prevent all of the above, but it is important to inculcate good eating habits.

Exercise and fitness:
Being physically active involves moving your body and using energy at an intensity that makes you warm and breathe a bit deeper than usual. One can try walking, jogging, cycling, skipping, swimming or aerobic exercises. All these help in weight loss and increase muscle power, lung and heart efficiency besides keeping stress-free.

Maintain a good oral hygiene:
White teeth, healthy gums and fresh breath create a germ free oral environment and a basis to good health. Lack of good hygiene has been related to sinusitis, acidity, headache and oral cancers, besides tooth decays, gingivitis and other gum diseases.
Professional care to remove stubborn plaque, calculus or hard mineral deposits and a routine teeth examination to rule out the possibility of cavities is essential, but more important is personal care on daily basis.

Keep your toilets clean:
Besides normal home hygiene, a clean toilet forms the basis to good health. An apparent spotless toilet may harbor million of germs, which thrive in moist, wet atmosphere and urinal remnants. Good toilet hygiene is important to prevent diseases.

Get enough sleep:
There’s nothing as stressful and potentially dangerous as working when you’re sleep deprived. Not only is the productivity and efficiency affected, sleep deprived people lack concentration. Sleep for at least eight hours a day.

Seek medical help:
Visit a doctor when ill. Vaccination against infectious diseases, regular visits to the physician, early screening for medical problems, all help to maintain good health.

Relieve stress:
Try yoga, meditation, deep breathing and other calming exercises as a means of reducing stress. Apart from these, inculcate a hobby, take a hot bath, read a book, exercise or just treat yourself with gifts.
