Contrary to the popular belief that aborting an unborn child might lead to guilty feeling, resulting in depression, findings of a new study reveal that teenagers undergoing the process feel much relieved than the ones who bear the child.
Underage pregnancies, the majority of which are unintended and ahead of the biological clock, are believed to be associated with greater risk for depression and lower self-esteem.
But, researchers from Oregon State University and University of California have now shown that the psychological impact of terminating an unwanted pregnancy is rather less painful and relaxed in teenagers.
