My baby is 11 months old. He never liked the taste and texture of milk and milk cereals however he likes lightly salted food. Can i give him Soy Milk or add some taste enhancer such as complan in his milk?
Since your baby is still below 1 year old, it is not advisable to give him soy milk; Soy contains hormone-like compounds called phytoestrogens. These compounds are currently under debate and researchers are trying to determine what effect, if any, they may have on a baby.
Once your baby turns 1 year old, you can give him soy milk; however, it should not be lowfat, and it should be vitamin and mineral fortified. Before giving soy milk to your baby, you should make sure that he is not allergic to soy.
Its quite a common problem faced by mothers and there's nothing to be worried about. You can try alternate foods like curd, soya milk which are equally nutritious for the kid. You can also try giving him foods like banana in thin slices or boiled potatoes.
Lightly salted food is all good :) Can try feeding him daal too. Complan is ok too, but try to avoid as long as you can. Natural is better :)
