Giant cell arteritis and double vision

My grandmother has been diagnosed with polymyalgia and vasculitis. She had pain on her jaw and headaches...but recently she developed double vision. I think she has she has giant cell arteritis. If ever she has this disease, can she still have her normal vision back?
