My child, Enry who is one year old has a habit of sucking his thumb. I have tried a lot to make him give away this bad habit but nothing seems to work. Can anybody suggest me what to do as i am quite tense?

Make your child busy with

Make your child busy with activities that he likes best. Play with your child and watch him closely if he will suck his thumb. If you see him about to thumb suck, correct it asap and give him his favorite toy to keep him busy; or divert his attention by having another fun activity he likes.

When your child is sucking

When your child is sucking his thumb, divert his attention by giving him his favorite toy. Musical toys or toys that produces sound when pressed or shaken are best for him since he's only a year old.

You can keep your child's hands busy with toys, games, or other favorite activities. Also remove your child's thumb from his mouth during sleep. Thumb-sucking at night is the most difficult habit to break.
