What is psychosis?

Psychological Problems

I'm being treated with cipralex for depression. My doc said she might treat me for mild psychosis and later said she wouldn't. I don't have any idea what it is.

Maybe your doctor can't conclude yet if she will diagnose you with mild psychosis or just depression only. Did you asked her why she changed her mind? maybe she wanted to get you into more tests to finalize her diagnosis.

Psychosis is a severe mental disorder, with or without organic damage, characterized by derangement of personality and loss of contact with reality and causing deterioration of normal social functioning. People experiencing psychosis may report hallucinations or delusional beliefs, and may exhibit personality changes and disorganized thinking. This may be accompanied by unusual or bizarre behavior, as well as difficulty with social interaction and impairment in carrying out the activities of daily living.
If you think you have psychosis, you must visit your doctor for possible treatments.

New Delhi, November 18 -- Since its outbreak in June this year, the H1N1 influenza has taken a widespread toll. With four more H1N1 deaths in India, the toll goes up to 530, as per an official statement.
