Iron deficiency ups risk of blood clots -- study

A new study by researchers at Imperial College London claims that people are at high risk of dangerous clots, medically termed as deep vein thrombosis (DVT), if they have low levels of iron in body.

DVT is a condition in which blood clots form in a vein deep within the body, leading to pain and swelling. These clots can prove fatal if not treated in time.
