High blood pressure, excessive amount of belly fat, more of normal triglycerides which is fat found in the blood, high blood sugar levels, and low high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol are the main characteristics of metabolic syndrome.

Chirstelle Raffaitin, MD, of the French National Institute of Health Research, says in a news release that the study “sheds new light on how metabolic syndrome and the individual factors of the disease may affect cognitive health.”
