Brain scans identify early signs of Alzheimer’s

Now chemical reactions suggesting a possibility for Alzheimer's in the brains of the genetically most probable people can be spotted, thanks to advanced brain scans.

Do human brains shrink with age?

As we get older our brains get smaller, at least so claims a new study in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences claims.

According to researchers, human brains not only lose volume with age but are also more vulnerable to cognitive dysfunctions like dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

The study also found that normal and healthy people also bear the brunt of aging, such as accumulation of amyloid-β plaque and loss of neural connections, especially in areas related with learning and memory.
