No link between contraceptive pills and weight gain

Confirming the findings of a recent study, a novel Swedish research has yet again established that contraceptive pills do not lead to weight gain in women.

According to the latest study that was initiated by Ingela Lyndh, a student of University of Gothenburg, the link between gaining weight and birth control pills is just a myth. The lead researcher also insisted that her thesis would inspire more women to use the contraceptive pill.

Lifestyle disorders causing infertility in women--AIIMS experts

In a striking new study, gynecology experts from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) have proposed that lifestyle disorders are increasingly contributing to unproductiveness in women.

According to the Indian gynecologists, faster lifestyles, smoking, drinking, indefinite work shifts, are some of the lifestyle changes that are leading to infertility in women.

The present findings were presented in a symposium organized by AIIMS, in which more than 100 experts from India and abroad participated.

The presentation also included a live workshop that demonstrated the most recent procedures for impediment, identification, and early management of infertility.

Study links fetal testosterone and autism in kids

An intriguing new study from the researchers at Telethon Institute for Child Health Research in Western Australia warns that fetuses exposed to high levels of male hormone testosterone in the womb are more likely to develop autistic traits as children.

The study findings back support from previous studies which state that autism is an extreme form of male mental traits and occurs more commonly in boys than girls, the ratio being 4:1.

Autism is a disorder of neural development characterized by impaired social interaction and communication, and restricted and repetitive behavior. Symptoms of the disorder begin before a child is 3-years-old.
