Scientists at the global cosmetics giant L’Oreal are working on developing a daily medication made from fruit extract that could prevent hair from turning grey.

Pill cuts down HIV risk by 44 percent, finds study

Finally a pill that can actually prevent the dreaded HIV infection to some extent is here. Truvada, a single daily pill currently used for treating HIV patients in the US, can cut down the risk of contracting HIV in gay and bi-sexual men by almost 44 percent, according to a recent study.

The risk reduced to further 73 percent in people taking the pill for more than 90 percent of the time.

"These results represent a major advance in HIV prevention research," Dr. Kevin Fenton, director of the National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD & TB Prevention at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said in a statement.

Contraceptive pills boost memory?
The study conducted by German scientists is the first of its kind to look at the impact of the hormonal contraceptives on the brain.

It was found that contraceptive pills taken by 3.5 million British women, to curb unwanted pregnancy increased the brain size by 3 percent and lead to improvement in brain function, the 'Daily Mail' reported.
