Drinking beer could give women psoriasis--study

According to a new study, women who love guzzling beer are more susceptible to psoriasis, a common immune-mediated skin disease characterized by itchy, red, scaly patches.

The danger of developing the painful skin condition was linked specifically to regular ales and lagers.

Consuming other kinds of drinks, including light beer, red and white wine had no effect on psoriasis risk.

Lead author of the study, Dr. Abrar A. Qureshi of Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston stated, "The association between alcohol consumption and increased risk of psoriasis onset and psoriasis worsening has long been suspected.
