Rheumatoid arthritis drugs linked to skin cancer -- study

An analysis of a prior research has found that TNF inhibitors, drugs used to treat rheumatoid arthritis (RA), may increase chances of developing skin cancer.

TNF (tumor necrosis factor) inhibitor drugs are responsible for inhibiting a protein called TNF alpha, a core ingredient to arthritis.

Now, a new study has come out saying that the omega-3 fatty acids could tackle alcohol abuse as well.

Omega-3 fatty acids are necessary for human health but they cannot be naturally produced by the body. These essential fatty acids are abundantly available in fish, such as salmon, tuna, and halibut, other seafood including algae and krill, some plants, and nut oils.

Tai Chi may prevent falls, boost mental health in elderly

Tai Chi, an ancient Chinese practice of gentle physical exercise and meditation, has been shown to reduce the risk of falls in older people and also improve their mental health, according to a review of medical studies.

Tai Chi is a non-competitive, self-paced system of gentle, graceful flowing movements and stretching that has been practised for more 500 years. Also called tai chi chuan, the practice combines meditation with slow, gentle physical exercise, deep breathing and relaxation.

Study details
To reach their findings, a team of British and South Korean scientists analyzed 35 existing systematic reviews of Tai Chi found in English-language, Chinese, and Korean databases.
