Glamorgan, February 20: A visit to the tanning salon turned out to be a disaster for the 14-year old girl Kirsty who suffered 70 percent burns on her body.

All this could have been avoided had the salon had capable staff. Now a health and safety investigation has been launched to look into the matter.

This Monday, Kirsty McRae, first put £4 in a coin operated sun bed at Lextan salon. But after the procedure, she felt she was not tanned enough. So she put £3 for another 15 minutes.

According to a survey, 2.3 million teenagers are annual indoor tanning clients in the United States alone while others say 5 percent of the 28 million customers are teenagers. But is there more to sun tanning than what meets the eye?
