According to the study, sperms become better at swimming towards the egg, have greater speed, and become more penetrative post vitamin D treatment.

Vitamin D, which is produced in body after exposure to sun's ultraviolet B light, basically helps regulate levels of calcium and phosphorus to generate healthy bones.

“Vitamin D levels were positively associated with sperm motility, suggesting a role for vitamin D in human sperm function,” the Daily Mail quoted study leader Dr. Martin Blomberg Jensen as saying.

Vitamin D deficiency adversely affects lung function, finds study

According to the findings of a new breakthrough Oz study, deficiency of Vitamin D can negatively affect the arrangement and functioning of the lungs.

The present study, conducted by a panel of researchers from the Telethon Institute for Child Health Research in Subiaco and University of Western Australia's Centre for Child Health Research, was aimed at finding the link between lack of Vitamin D and lungs.

"The results of this study clearly demonstrate that vitamin D deficiency alters lung growth, resulting in lower lung volume and decrements in lung function," said Graeme Zosky, a research fellow at the Telethon Institute and the lead investigator.
