New treatment for delayed asthma found --study

Researchers from the Imperial College, London claimed that they have found a potential new treatment for the ‘delayed’ attacks of asthma. The delayed attacks are suffered by almost half of the asthma patients, hours after being exposed to the allergens.

According to research found the delayed asthmatic response in most asthma patients happen because the allergens trigger the sensory nerves that set a chain reaction causing the release of a neurotransmitter acetylcholine, which in turn causes the airway to narrow.

“Women have a higher risk of developing dementia compared to men,” the Science Daily quoted lead researcher Sonia Davison, MD, PhD, a postdoctoral research fellow at Monash University, Melbourne, as saying.
