Washington, March 22: The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has declared 72 weight-loss products in its listings as "tainted" for consisting of unspecified constituents in excessive amounts.
FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research director, Dr. Janet Woodcock, said: "These tainted weight-loss products pose a great risk to public health because they contain undeclared ingredients and, in some cases, contain prescription drugs in amounts that greatly exceed maximum recommended dosages."

StarCaps is promoted as a natural dietary supplement containing a rare blend of papaya and garlic, but the FDA found that the weight loss pill also contains a drug called bumetanide, which is a powerful diuretic that can have serious side effects.
