Walking is sure a great form of exercise that burns heaps of calories. It surely is great and easy on your feet and joints. But if you are bored with the same walking routine, the American Podiatric Medical Association offers some low-impact alternatives for you:
1. Take a swim. It is one of the best exercises for you, relaxing you and keeping your body fit. If you don't know how to swim, then sign up for a water aerobics class and have a splash.
2. You can also sign up for an aerobics, Pilates or a yoga class.
3. Hop on a bike and just start pedaling. It does not matter whether it's outdoors or a stationary bike, long as you are enjoying it.
4. Remember the fun of your childhood? Start exercising with a hula-hoop or jumping rope. It will be fun still.
5. Work out using some light-weight lifts. And remember not to overstress yourself.
